Possessive Apostrophes...Not My Fault!

[edit]

The Rolls-Royce plc article was not touched by me except to add the fate of Cooper Rolls.Any disappearance of apostrophes must have been a software glitch.--Louis E./le@put.com/ 12.144.5.2 03:06, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)

OK, I'll let you off then, just this once ;-) --hooverbag 07:54, 2004 Dec 1 (UTC)

The Humungous Image Tagging Project

[edit]

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

Gosford

[edit]

I'm intrigued — where is it, exactly? Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:15, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Thanks; I'll have to look out for it. Most of the places I've added I know, or at least have passed through a few times, but I must admit that Water Eaton went in becuase I quite like the name, and I'd already added Wood Eaton... Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:48, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Oxfordshire category

[edit]

Hi from a fellow Oxford resident.

You may be interested to know that a Wikipedians in Oxfordshire category has been created, so feel free to add your name to it. I saw your name on the list of people who had edited the article on Kidlington (where I spent most of my childhood), and I hoped you wouldn't mind me stopping by. [edit]

I added |Hooverbag to the Category:Wikipedians in Oxfordshire on your user page, so you list under H instead of U (for User: ) hope that's ok. Alf melmac 13:52, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Emily booth portrait.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Emily booth portrait.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Old Raw 16:42, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to the first ever Oxford Wiki Meetup which will take place at The Four Candles, 51 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2BE on Sunday 4 November 2012 from 1.00 pm.

I hope as many people as possible will be able to attend so that we can make this a regular event. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Oxford related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you. The article Dominique Pinon has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
